Blou is a very friendly and intelligent Old German Shepherd. True to his breed, he is very alert indoors and wants to protect his family from strangers. However, due to his age, he also needs plenty of rest. Blou is very friendly and cautious around people, which makes him absolutely fantastic with children. In the garden, he still gets quite lively and playful with Daisy, despite his age. Blou has always loved playing with other dogs. However, his large, black appearance leads most dog owners to have prejudices, which makes it difficult for him to make new friends. With his canine companions, though, Blou is very strong-willed, friendly, and playful. He lets people do almost anything with him, which is why Daisy quickly assumed the role of pack leader.

His elements are water and snow. He loves long walks and playing in the snow. He also loves swimming. As soon as a pool is set up, he wants to jump in and splash around. That's why he also loves going through every puddle. Blou is very quick to learn. He executes all commands without any problems, even without treats. He can also walk very well off-leash and has absolutely no hunting instinct.

We hope for many more healthy years with our great "Black Beauty".

 

Sadly, we had to let our beloved Blou go on June 4th, 2026, due to complete paralysis of his hind legs. We tried everything, but he clearly showed us that it was his time to leave. Blou will forever be unforgettable. He leaves a huge void in our family. Dear Blou, thank you for 11 wonderful years together. We are sure that you have now found your endless source of water in heaven to play and swim in.
